When you just don’t feel like yourself

Fatigue, mood changes, stubborn weight, poor sleep, sometimes the subtle signs are worth listening to.

Fatigue, low mood, changes in cycles, stubborn weight, and poor sleep are some of the most common reasons people come in, and also the most commonly dismissed. Standard labs can be within reference range while you still feel unwell.

Why “normal” labs can be misleading

Reference ranges describe a population, not an individual, and they are wide by design. A result can be technically normal, trending in the wrong direction, or simply not the right test for your symptoms.

  • Thyroid assessed with TSH alone, without free T4, free T3, or antibodies
  • Iron status judged by hemoglobin without ferritin
  • Hormones drawn at the wrong point in the cycle
  • No evaluation of blood sugar patterns or insulin

Patterns worth taking seriously

Symptoms that cluster and persist for more than a few months deserve a fuller evaluation: cycle changes with mood shifts, fatigue that sleep does not resolve, new digestive or skin changes, or a clear before-and-after in how you feel.

If you have been told everything looks fine and you still do not feel like yourself, that is worth revisiting with a broader lens.
